The Aftermath Form
An advanced approach to long-form improv rooted in silence and aftermath.
Description
This advanced course explores The Aftermath Form, a rare, patience-driven long form where the most important event has already happened—and is never shown. Rather than relying on plot or explanation, students create compelling work through behavior, silence, emotional residue, and consequence. Over six weeks, the class emphasizes restraint, deep listening, and ensemble trust. Students practice staying present in ambiguity, allowing meaning to emerge gradually, and trusting the audience to connect the dots. Through focused exercises and full-form rehearsals, performers learn to build a cohesive world without naming backstory or forcing resolution. The course culminates in a public performance on March 20th that invites the audience to lean in and experience long-form improv shaped by patience rather than speed. Enrollment is limited to 8 students. Because this work builds week to week, consistent attendance is essential. Students who miss two or more classes will not be eligible to perform in the showcase. There will be a snow day make up class on March 18th.
